A Few Limitations of the DuPont WFHD13001B Universal Heavy Duty Whole House Water Filtration System

Though I truly love this DuPont whole house water Filter because of the large capacity I however don’t like the fact that there is no visual way of knowing when the filter element needs to be replaced. This really a big challenge and needs careful monitoring. Also it is not really good that the unit does not have metal inserts for the pipe unions. This means the unions cannot be tightened very well which results in leaks.Apart from these few concerns the DuPont WFHD13001B Universal Heavy Duty Whole House Water Filtration System is really a good buy!

A water softener company wanted $2,000 to replace my 18 year old iron filter… This $60 DuPont whole house filter did the trick with a small caveat… I have to change the filter every 90 days instead of once a year as stated in the DuPont specification sheet… but it only costs $10 so I’m still way ahead

Happy..Happy..Happy!!!

Super easy install. I’m truly amazed at the difference this filter made. We have lime scale BAD. To the point that if you got a glass of water, and sat it down for a few minutes it would get cloudy, ick!!! But now that I installed this filter, and flushed the system. The water is crystal clear, even after sitting overnight. 🙂 My coffee tastes better, clothes are getting cleaner, believe it or not, but you can actually taste the difference in food. All that and a great price…. You cant beat it.

I gave it 4 stars because it should come with a mounting bracket. I ordered the bracket, and the bracket should come with screws.

Clear water at last!

We recently purchased a home and the very deep well water tested high for iron and was very brown, though was otherwise clean (no organisms). A private company wanted to put in a filtration system for about $3500 but we couldn’t afford that. Since we had so much sediment, we decided to do a two-step process. We had this put in as the first filter to catch the large silt, then a second whole-home self-cleaning water filtration system that cost about $250 put in after this filter. The water is very clear, tastes great, and feels great. I know it wasn’t just this product, but we expect this one to extend the life of the other self-cleaning more expensive filter by doing the initial filtration. Highly recommend. The plumber also said it was easy to install.

Good price if you know what you’re doing.

The threaded pipe connections definitely require some plumbing tape, be sure to thoroughly test for leaks before finalizing your install. The mounting points were not pre-threaded but I had no problems driving bolts into the soft plastic housing.

all the filter you’ll need for well water.

This solved our iron bacteria problem for much less than other water treatment options. I’m very happy with it. If you install it, make sure to install shut offs before and after. It will make changing filters much less stressful.
