I wasn’t sure if I should buy this because I have a pull-out style sprayer faucet at home and according to New Wave’s website, “At this point in time, New Wave has not been able to provide an adapter for the varying depths of a sprayer faucet aerator and, therefore, standard installation is not an option.” I decided to buy it anyway and hope for the best. Luckily, I did find an adapter that worked for my sprayer (I added a picture to the item listing images), a 15/16-27 male thread adapter.

Work gread, but twice already the housing cracked and lead to flooding

The filters seem to work well, however there is a critical problem with the housings. If they are mounted in-line/under the sink, with a drinking fountain over the sink, they are subject to the normal water pressure in the pipes when sitting there. Unfortunately, the plastic housing is not strong enough and could crack, leading to flooding. This has happened two times to us already over several years of using these filters. Just today, the second and relatively new housing cracked under normal pressure from the water system. If this happens when no one is in the house, it could result in thousands of dollars of damages! See photo. Both times the crack developed the same way. It happens suddenly, with a loud pop and then you can hear the hissing sound of the water spewing out under pressure. As it happened today, my cat was napping on my lap, got startled from the pop and hiss under the sink, jumped off me, and now I got three big red bloody scratches on my belly from our cat’s attempt to save its life and escape fast ;(

Great quality, great water, easy install, and economical long term. Great for rental properties.

Huge improvement to the quality of my water. I live in middle Tennessee where there’s a lot of lime in our water. Immediately I could not only taste but also smell the difference. The water doesn’t taste like chlorine or chemicals and this filter produces a nice ‘crispness’ to the water that is great. I’m a coffee nerd, which is why I wanted high-quality water but wasn’t able to install an under-the-sink system as I’m in a rental property. This filter has given me great quality water for drinking and for coffee that I’m more than pleased with. I was using a Britta pitcher before this, and the improvement over that is WELL worth the money, besides, only having to change the filter every 1500 gallons or so is a huge plus. Once you do the math, you figure out that $50 for a replacement filter, while more costly that contemporary countertop filters, actually is cheaper in the long run because of the capacity of this filter. The hardest part of the installation was running to Home Depot to get a stronger wrench to get the old, stuck aerator off my faucet. Everything I needed for a fast, easy install was included. They even included an adapter if your faucet is threaded the opposite of most, which mine ended up being. Once I got my old aerator off, everything was installed and running in about 5 minutes. I’ve had this for about a month, and so far, have had nothing but great things to say about it.
