I Finally Have Ice

For almost two years I just thought my Fridgidaire refrigerator was just slow to make ice and super slow to fill my glass with water. I do use a lot of ice when I make a drink so I also thought it was just me. It wasn’t until my filter light on the fridge came on that I decided to buy a new filter. I ordered this filter and a few days later it ended up at my house. I put it in and I could NOT believe that for the past two years I’ve been just dealing with a bad filter. I put the new one in and my water is pouring out very fast and the ice maker is going crazy. I can’t even keep up with the amount of ice it’s producing. So…if anyone out there is having issues with their ice maker and water dispenser, you may just have to buy a new filter.

Purge the filter or just buy the bypass …

Recently purchased, i don’t know how long this unit will last but I thought I could clear up some confusion on these. Unit has to be purged after installing otherwise you will get this very nasty taste for gallons and gallons of water. I ran about a half gallon of water through the dispenser, pulled the filter, and shook all the water out in the sink. Repeated two more times, except dispensed about a quart out before pulling. Bad taste gone.

Bring on the Ice Age!!!!

So when the Frigidaire filter needs to be replaced do you know what happens? Your ice maker stops working. That’s it. But there’s not note or anything saying if I stop making ice try replacing the filter. Keep in mind the entire time I can drink water through the fridge, just no ice. So I’ve owned my fridge for about a year and we had no ice one day. Should have called Lowe’s where I bought the fridge that day, but it’s just ice and we’ll get around to fixing it one day.

Great Product!

Wow! What a difference from the OEM filters. Water flow is faster. I have to empty the ice bin at least once a week. I know all that will change with the warmer weather approaching. Easy to install and a whole lot more economical. I’ve had it longer than the suggested replacement time, but the water still has the same taste, there is not a difference in the ice cubes or the amount being produced. Will definitely purchase again.

This is the product that I always decide to replace my expiring filter with. I always keep one on hand and I’m always ready to replace the old filter with. It provides clean water to our ice dispenser/water dispenser.

Great product!!!

Perfect fit for out refrigerator and water tastes great. For anyone new to these filters, make sure when you put a new one in that you run about 2 to 3 gallons of water through it before drinking or using it with your ice maker (turn the ice make off before running the water). After running the water through, then tun the ice maker back on.
